French flair is what the client wanted. The existing house was a traditional brick house built in the 50’s with a transformation that began with exterior walls being stuccoed with plaster and painted a lovely putty color. BL set about to create gardens to accompany the transformation. The existing pool was re-shaped and plastered in a lovely deep Mediterranean blue and a spa was added. A pair of 16th century French torcheres were added as punctuation to the pool scupper wall and French reclaimed stone was used to clad the pool deck. The planting design was very strict and clean, with boxwood parterres and tall green sheared hedges. Versailles planter boxes were painted a lovely gunmetal that spoke to the houses trim color and planted with lovely kumquat trees. Custom gates and finials were designed and painted in the same gunmetal. The garden resulted in a versatile and highly utile space for large scale entertaining and family fun alike.
